England are preparing to return home from India following yesterday’s terrorist attacks in Mumbai, say reports.
The Press Trust of India (PTI) reported that Kevin Pietersen’s men had decided to fly home immediately, but this was later refuted as news filtered out that England will remain in Bhubaneswar overnight and hold discussions with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) over the next 24 hours before deciding whether to abandon the tour completely.
The final two one-day internationals in the seven-match series have been postponed. England trail 5-0 after yesterday’s defeat.
Hugh Morris, the ECB’s managing director of England cricket, said: “On behalf of the Board and the England team, we would like to express our condolences to the families and friends of those people who were killed or injured in last night’s attacks.
