Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s 52nd film Velayudham launched function
Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s 52nd film Velayudham was launched in a grand event at the Madras University Hall today. Velayudham is directed by Jayam Raja and produced by Aascar Ravichandran. Around 50,000 diehard fans of Vijay turned up for the event. Vijay Anthony is the music director.
The pooja and kick off event of Vijay’s Velayudham, held today, was as much as a family event as it was a fan event. Fans from 30 districts in Tamil Nadu thronged the Madras University Centenary Hall in Chepauk to get a glimpse of Vijay and to participate in the commencement of the movie. Fans, who were selected to attend the event, received a gift hamper with a Velayudham Tshirt. They were also served with Biriyani and refreshments to go along with it.
Vijay was all praise for producer Aascar Ravichandran and revealed that it was Ravi’s idea to have fans participate in the pooja of Velayudham.

Venkat Prabhu to direct Ajith Next film Mangaatha
A couple of days ago Venkat Prabhu was finalized to direct Ajith in this film. The movie is to be produced by Cloud Nine Movies.
Gautham Menon, in an interview to a magazine said that it is true that he is not directing Ajith in the film that is to be produced by Cloud Nine Movies. When he was asked if there are any chances to direct Ajith after Venkat Prabhu completes his venture, Gautham said that he does not know about it. He added that his fans can expect an announcement about his next venture in a week’s time.
The actress Anushka has been signed up to star alongside Ajith in the film Mangaatha.
