The India captain Anil Kumbler whether or not going to play the second Test is unknown . A final decision will only be made on Friday.

“It was not just my view. I think collectively the team has also backed me in whatever I have said. I think it is not unlike Anil Kumble. It’s just being me,” Kumble played it straight, backing his views in a recent newspaper column.

The main focus, though, will once again be on the big names in the middle order. In Bangalore, each of them showed sparks of good form. In Mohali, they are expected to relish the conditions even more.

“Every time we have played here, we have put up a big score. So this is probably a good opportunity for our batsmen to get some big runs,” added the Indian captain.

Right at the entrance of the pavilion, it’s hard to miss the honours board, which features all big Indian names in the list of centurions at this venue, something they have missed for a while. They would like to recreate this magic, and if they do that, India can push hard for victory.
